BrainSmart® Dealing with Change and Building Resilience
Around 80% of what we now know about how our brains work has been discovered in the last 20 years. The insights gained from the world of Neuroscience are helping us understand how our brains respond to change and uncertainty, how we are affected by stress, and the pressure of ‘being on’ 24/7. We are also understanding how our brains struggle with focus and attention in a world of information overwhelm.
We now know that, under increasing pressure, we become more prone to negative thoughts and emotions, to perceiving increased danger and threat in our environment and these reactions impact our ability to be fully present to others and stay productive. Without strategies to deal with these, that include prioritising our self-care, our wellbeing and happiness can suffer and our long-term mental and physical health may be impacted
Online Delivery and Blended Learning
We have created the online ‘Dealing with Change and Building Resilience’ program to help individuals learn how to know, train, and optimise their brain to:
- manage change effectively
- deal productively with stress
- sustain their focus and attention
- build their personal resilience
There are 6 areas covered in the online program supported by 2 interactive and engaging webinars and 2 ebooks to support ongoing learning. The modules cover:-
- Our Brains and Change
- Understanding Stress
- Strategies for reducing Stress
- Understanding Change
- Strategies for Dealing with Change
- Building Resilience
What attendees say about the program:
"The insight on how the brain works has helped me plan my day and week better to avoid 'going limbic'! I now plan tasks that require new thinking or concentration for limited periods throughout each day and break them up with routine tasks"
“Not getting stressed and overwhelmed so easily. Being able to cope there and then, rather than hiding it all and taking it home. I don't go straight into panic mode as much as I used to. I'm able to step back to take a moment to think about it. I still have moments of panic, but I feel I manage them better”
“Being able to manage stressful situations better and calmer. I now take the time to stop and think about what is happening to either reduce my stress levels or to think about what the facts are.
“When dealing with change, I try to understand what is within my control and what is outside of my control so I can manage the areas that I can control and not worry about the rest”
Case Study – Dealing with Change and Building Resilience
We have developed a case study based on our work with a financial services organisation which was experiencing a great deal of change. You can download a copy here to see the substantial results the participants gained from participating in the program.
